About Me:
This is a little section about me and my site, in-case you don’t know already!
I graduated in 2005 with a BSc honours degree in Computer Science from Southampton University and since then I have worked for MoneySavingExpert.com the largest Consumer Finance Website in the UK with over 13.5 million visits a month. I build websites and apps both as part of my job and as a hobby.
At the beginning of 2008 I brought myself a Nike + kit and started running. Before then I had only completed a few treadmill runs as part of a gym workout and a Blue Peter fun run when I was about 7! I decided to set myself a challenge to run 500km by the 31st December 2008 so that I had something to work towards. By the time the October came around I had smashed my target and had a place to run in the London Marathon!
In the build up to my First Marathon I completed the Great South Run and The Paris Half Marathon, (both in the pouring rain) – see my blog for more details and anecdotes, as well as numerous road runs that took me along the marathon route and to work and back on a number of occasions.
I managed to finish the last ever Flora sponsored London Marathon in 4 hours 34 minutes. A little over what I was training towards, but it was in very hot conditions. I now have the bug and have continued to run at weekends around my local area and have entered a few other 10k races. My long term aim is to add New York, Chicago, Boston and Berlin to my Marathon CV and therefore complete the big 5 road races.
If you fancy joining me at any point let me know as running buddies are always useful. I can normally be found running the roads of my home town of Woodford or a bit further afield in London or Kent.
