They think its all over…
“Running is a lot like life. Only 10 percent of it is exciting. 90 percent of it is slog and drudge.” David Bedford
A year ago I picked up a nike+ device and since then running has practically consumed my life. I was going to give a run down of the long run but to be honest I suspect most people have heard the story by now so to give it a brief synopsis…it was hotter than I was ready for, I don’t think I drunk enough, I came in slightly slower than I had hoped at 4:34 but regardless of all of this I finished it and here is my watch data to prove it!
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank ALL of the people that have
helped me get through this day, I know for some it hasn’t been the easiest journey. For any of you that are reading this thinking that it wont consume much time training for something like this from my perspective that couldn’t be any further from the truth. Running a Marathon takes time, dedication, and plenty of energy – and I know that at points in the last month I struggled with all of these! I would also like to thank all those that have donated money to Fair Havens I know they are very grateful for all the help and donations. It has been fun running for them, but if I was to do it again I would try to find someone local I can train with to help me push through those tough miles.

they think its all over…it is now!
Thanks for reading, please keep coming back to my site, why not write a comment if you are here – i’d love some feedback!

p.s. one of the reoccurring questions I have had is “Would you do it again?”, I think the fact that since running the Marathon I put my name in the London Marathon 2010 ballot as well as the New York Marathon at the end of the year. I guess that probably means yes – glutton for punishment! I think I am going to say (with a touch of hesitation) that my goal in life is to run all five majors. There is no rush, I’m still young, but it is both a perfect opportunity to see some amazing city and hopefully retain the current fitness level I have!
p.p.s. I’m not really sure what happens to the site now, I have a few 10k’s coming up I will be “training” for, maybe I’ll blog my progress on here.
